Websites have come a long way since I designed my first one in the late 90’s
Most of the websites I design and build currently utilise the WordPress platform, the world’s most popular website builder.
The advantages of WordPress
Clients can get a feature rich web site built on a recognised platform, so if the worst should happen and you part ways with your web designer, a new web designer can continue to manage and grow your existing website without the need for a complete redesign.
Types of websites I build
I build and maintain websites for a number of different purposes for my clients the three most common types of website are:
Simple websites that tell your customers about who you are, what you do and where you do it.
List your products and services online, available for customers to purchase and pay.
Control the content available on your website by restricting access to members or paid for access.
One of the reasons WordPress has become so popular, is the third party developers, who create themes and plug-ins which modify the appearance and functionality of the core WordPress platform. Being able to choose between them is less easy but experience helps!
Are you looking for a new web designer to change or redesign your existing website?
Everything under one roof
I can offer a complete web design service, including domain registration and hosting for your website and email. I can even keep it up to date for you, either by creating content myself or working with yourself or a member of your team.
A good website doesn’t have to cost a lot
Some of the best websites are just simple budget websites that tell the viewer who you are, what you do and where you do it. Assuming the site is registered with the appropriate search engines (Google) and it offers an easy way for the viewer to enquire about the services offered, in many cases this is all that’s required for many businesses.
A note about SEO (Search Engine Optimisation)
SEO is the practice of making your online presence visible to the search engines (Google). All websites should be built so they are ‘Search Engine Friendly’ and reflect SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) guidelines as standard. A competent web designer and combined with listing your business correctly with search engines should get your website found. There is more information on SEO here.
